BMT from haploidentical mother to child with thalassemia & sickle cell anemia using protocol 30

If the sickle cell anemic child does not have an HLA-matched compatible donor from the family or from a bone marrow donor bank, there is another cure called Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) from haploidentical mother to child using protocol 30 (mismatched donor), in which the donor is the mother. This alternative protocol is being used by one of our experts since 2002. Today the success rate is over 90%.

From the video gallery of our webpage, you can watch Dr. Pietro Sodani’s talk at TEDMEDLive Bologna on BMT from haploidentical mother to child with thalassemia and sickle cell anemia as a social business.
